Had the funeral ceremony for my sister-in-law, Pam Jefferson-Fogarty, today. It was very nice, as far as those things go. The only time I've been in church lately is for funerals or maraiges.

Pam was a good person. Salt of the earth. The world was made better by her being here. The good news is she lives on in her spirit, and in our kids blood, and in our hearts. We will miss her.

New Ad placement

Imaage has a big ad budget, most of it spent on print ads, but some on the internet (the web is our third biggest provider of new patients, after #1 - repeat patients (breast augmentation in the 20s, then liposuction later, then tummy tuck later, facelift eventually - you get the picture, and #2 - patient referrals). So we basically spend most of that money trying to attract new patients, which can be frustrating at times - trying to figure out where we can best utilize our marketing resources.

So we tried two new venues - placing ads in women's restrooms throughout the region. About 30 places in all. I've been pleasantly suprised by the early feedback. At least the ads are being seen. The other new print place is in 'Thunder Roads', a motorcycling magazine, geared mostly to Harley riders. Has already lead to a couple of consults with surgery planned.

I've always liked marketing but it is a tough problem to solve. Tons of advice out there. Imaage does a very thorough job of tracking all our phone calls and consults, etc...where they come from, how did they hear of us. Still feels like we 'shotgun' a lot of times trying to cover all the bases.

Late Summer
layout element

Tags: , , , , , ,

We're entering the traditionally slow time for plastic (cosmetic surgery). The only explanation I have is the early summer excitement is over and the soccer-moms are not thinking anymore of mommy makeovers or breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks, etc, but instead just enjoying the summer and, in the back of their mind, thinking about the return to school on the horizon.

I say two patients today who are planning their surgery for November/December. As you know, that is very unusual in this business...usually people want their surgery yesterday.

In an attempt to keep the usual level of business, we're offering a couple of specials...look on the front page of Imaage® to find. This economy (as in $86 tanks of gas) affects everyone, and cosmetic surgery is dependent on discretionary income.
