Uneven Breast Correction

Breast asymmetry, or unevenness of the breasts, is a very common problem. In fact, everyone, no matter how ‘perfect’ their breasts are, have a slightly different shape comparing the two sides.

This young lady from the recent past is an example. You can see the before and after and the improvement. She had breast augmentation on both sides and also a lift on her left side. I also reduced the size of her areola on the left side. Of course it has only been a few weeks and her shape and result will continue to improve. She is doing very well and happy.

I’m always surprised why patients like her did not address this issue sooner. Like a lot of the things we do (breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks, removal of excess skin after weight loss, etc), I don’t think people realize that they do not have to live with something about their appearance that they don’t like. Patient education is a big deal…not just educating patients what can be done, but also a big part of our informed consent process.
