Last Dec. 31 was the end of my 3 year cycle or continuing medical education requirements. Start a new 3 year cycle on 1/1/09. Of course met the requirements for maintaining my license, etc in plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. Need something like 150 hours but I had way more than that.
My question - do any patients really care. I don't think so. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to continually be burdened with these requirements when they probably don't improve my skills or knowledge and no patient even cares. I see at least a few patients a week who consider going to a dermatologist (!!!) for liposuction, or even ridiculous lipodissolve, instead of the gold standard...real liposuction by a real plastic surgeon. Argh!
I am not bashing anyone by name, and I really do not see bad results from these techniques, but I do see minimal improvement compared to the real deal...liposuction by a real plastic surgeon.
Somehow got off track from the original subject. My bad.

Just got back from a VIP Grammy Party in LA at Russell Simmons house (pics to follow). Hung out with Ti, Quincy Jones, some LA Lakers, etc...Cindy Lauper was there, as was Queen Latifah, some Kardasian, G-girlz (?). Good time...late into the next day and then partying in Beverly Hills till ??
Lots of beautiful augmented Southern California girls and a hoppin' party. That is definitely ground zero for plastic surgery, esp breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks. Party was so loud and wild that I worried a little about if the house was strong enough to stand the dancing, etc. I'll post some pics in the next few days. Here's a shocker - some are pretty blurry.

January was very slow at Imaage. I think it was just the usual January slowness plus the economy plus terrible weather.
February is very busy, thank goodness. A few things are happening to explain this, though the weather is still yucky - tax returns are coming in and lots of patients use this for their cosmetic surgery (breast augmentation, liposuction, mommy makeover, tummy tucks, etc), Valentine's Day is next week, and Spring is around the corner.
We've had to add some operating days in our accredited surgery suite at the office to accomodate everyone. Good problem to have. Once we get a few nice days, interest really picks up and the phones start ringing. Still plenty of time for folks to get their act together and look good for Derby and Summer - especially cellulite treatments like Vela-shape...those usually take ~ 6 wks.
