Another award

Imaage is proud to announce we are the recipient of another design award. We have received a citation from The American Institute of Architects for Achievement of Excellence in the Architectural Design. Everyone who works here and all the patients continually comment on how beautiful and functional the building is...from the decorating to the design.

JRA architects did a great job. We have state-of-the-art floor plan and mechanicals in the building, which allow us to do all our cosmetic surgery here...everything from breast augmentations, liposuction, tummy tucks, facelifts, etc. This investment allows a much more private, luxurious, and I feel, safer experience for the patient and their family.

We'll be issuing a press release any day.

Sofpulse study

Imaage is one of only 60 practices in the country selected to test the new 'Sofpulse' technology. Sofpulse is new technology from Allergan (breast implant manufacturer) that helps as an adjunct to relieve post-op pain and swelling.

Sofpulse sends low levels of electrical current into the soft tissues for the first 5 days after surgery. There is little or no sensation to the patient. This device is worn under your bra and is not a medication. It is simple and automatic and lasts for 5 days...starting at 20 minutes at a time and becoming less frequent until the 5 days are up. We place it over your dressings once your surgery is finished in our office surgery suite. It is only for primary breast augmentations.

We have been asked to survey 5 people and then submit our data to Allergan...they will thus have 300 patients across the country.

It's exciting to be asked to participate in this study.

Mommy makeover

Tags: , , , , ,

There was an article in the NY Times the other day on the increasing popularity of 'mommy makeovers'.

The effects of pregnancy and childbirth and breast-feeding can ravage a woman's body...loose skin on her belly along with weakened abdominal muscles, loss of breast tissue with an 'empty sock' look, sagging breasts, etc. I'm seeing a lot of these patients and doing a lot of combination procedures...and of course I'm biased, but the combination of a breast lift and/or augmentation, along with a tummy tuck or lipo can bring back and maybe make an even better shape compared to pre-pregnancy. This is a great combination of surgery...it changes the ratios of bust-line and waist-line and provides a flat belly. Of course this is cosmetic surgery all surgery has risks and has a significant recovery. I tell people with the above procedures, or anything that needs a tummy-tuck...expect to take 3 weeks off work, be about 75% better at one month, and not 100% for two months. We do all these procedures routinely in our certified office surgery suite.

We're in the process of adding some of our 'mommy makeovers' to the tabs on the main page of the site.

Arm reduction
layout element

Tags: , , , , , ,

As more people lose weight...through diet/exercise or surgical procedures, we are seeing more people who want improvement in their arms. These 'bat wings' can be really embarrassing and keep you from wearing any kind of short sleeves. 'Brachioplasty' is the plastic surgery term for improvement of the arm.

As you might guess, everyone's arms are slightly different. The problem may be excess fat with excellent skin elasticity...this can usually be improved with liposuction only. Sometimes there is way too much skin and not much fat, which requires removal of the skin. This will leave some sort of scar, but the contour and shape are much better. Or there can be a combination of skin/fat which requires a combination of lipo/skin removal.

All of these procedures are routinely done at IMAAGE in our office surgery suite. We do only cosmetic surgery...liposuction, tummy tucks, breast augmentation, facelifts, etc. We are in the process of putting up some of our before/after photos of arms...we've got them in our before/after books in the office already.

This is a very gratifying procedure, as most patients with this problem are unaware anything can even be done and are so happy with the results.
